![]() Hell, maybe I want a huge map where it's only me and one other leader on the other side. But for me in singleplayer, maybe I'd like a game where I can explore and grow my empire for more than 5 turns before running into my neighbors. When have more options ever been a bad thing? If people choose a certain configuration in multiplayer, that's on them. You could apply the official reasoning as well here. In multiplayer it is unlikely that many people would enjoy an overblown map, and it would derive too much from the original game design, leading to distorted impressions if not served to the customers properly. It is because the map generator is made with its universal functions in mind, which also applies on multiplayer. This trend of devs not letting players have fun their own way needs to go. Why can't I have, for example, a huge map with only 2 or 3 players? Maybe I just like exploring and growing a lot.
